From 11 to 13 June, Albacete hosted the Deeptech Technological Demonstrations event, organised by the Spanish Association of Irrigation and Drainage (AERYD), the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA) and the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM), as part of the activities of the 40th National Irrigation Congress.
The event brought together over 250 end users and numerous companies from the irrigation sector, and was designed to bridge the gap between cutting-edge technologies and real-world application by connecting universities, research centers, and businesses. The programme included demonstrations on remote sensing applied to irrigation management, technical advice and design of precision irrigation systems.
The Desertification Research Centre CIDE (CSIC-UV-GVA), through the Water and Crops Research Group, presented several technological solutions in the thematic line "Environment and Agriculture Interaction". In its exhibition space, the group presented different solutions related to the sustainable and efficient use of water in agriculture. In addition, the TRAGUA project, Transfer of Digital Solutions for Efficient Water Management in the agro-environmental sector, (INNACC/2024/17), which promotes the visibility and transfer of research results in technologies applied to sustainable irrigation, was also highlighted. This action is funded by the Valencian Innovation Agency (AVI) (IVACE+i Innovation) and co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) Programme for the Valencian Community 2021-2027.
CIDE's participation reinforces its commitment to a more resilient agriculture, technologically advanced and aligned with the environmental challenges of the 21st century.
