On Wednesday 29 April, researchers Ignacio Buesa, Daniel Sacristán and Diego Intrigliolo will take part in the 2026 Wine Conference of the Utiel-Requena Designation of Origin, an event focusing on the importance of soil management as a key tool for improving vineyard sustainability.
The conference will bring together specialists from the scientific and technical fields to discuss innovative strategies that contribute to more environmentally friendly viticulture adapted to current challenges.
Among the scheduled activities, a field visit to the experimental vineyard located on the El Cerrito experimental plot of the Lucio Gil Fagoaga Foundation stands out, offering a first-hand look at advances and results in this field. The #INTERMED project is being carried out at this vineyard, analysing different types and management practices of ground cover in vineyards. #INTERMED is funded by the State Research Agency (PID2023-153293OA-I00).
This event represents an excellent opportunity to exchange knowledge, generate synergies and bring research closer to the sector.
