The Centre for Research on Desertification (CIDE, CSIC-UV-GVA) and the Valencian Institute of Agricultural Research (IVIA) are participating in the STIV International Training Week, organised by the Félix Jiménez School of Viticulture and Oenology in Requena.

Both research institutes have collaborated in a field demonstration day on the use of new drone-based technologies for more sustainable viticulture, thus contributing to the advanced training of technical staff.

The use of drones for the application of plant protection products and/or nutritional supplements and the mapping of the water and health status of vines will not only improve the application of inputs but also transform field tasks, thereby contributing to the digitalisation of the sector.

The workshop consisted of both a theoretical part in the classroom and a field demonstration in the training vineyards of the Requena School, in an environment where the vineyard is integrated into the rural landscape of the interior of the Valencian Community.
