The level of molecular analysis in biology is crucial to understand how living beings function. In the Introduction of the White Paper on Biochemistry and Biotechnology, it is stated that the advance of the so-called "molecular biosciences" in the 20th century has been spectacular and that their applications "are considered, after information technologies, the next big expansion wave of the knowledge-based economy". From here it is drawn that the putting in motion of a master's degree that has as its fundamental objective the training of professionals in "molecular biosciences" has a great academic, scientific and professional interest. Training of highly qualified staff in the field of molecular biosciences (and, in its more practical aspect, in biotechnology) has a great socio-economic importance, in its double aspect of training professionals for biotechnology companies and potential entrepreneurs linked to the Science Park of the University of Valencia.
