The new order of official university doctoral courses (Royal Decree 99/2011, of January 28) has involved a significant change in the organization of these lessons: Now, third cycle studies focus on the preparation and defense of the doctoral thesis and the previous research training activities that are developed within the framework of one or several university master's degrees.
Therefore, the doctoral programs have as main purpose the advanced training of the student in research techniques through an organized set of training and research activities that, after preparation and defense of a doctoral thesis, lead to the obtaining a doctor's degree.
The students of the Doctorate Program in Biomedicine and Biotechnology can carry out the research period in one of the following entities:

In addition to the institutional collaborations with the Institutes and Research Centers mentioned above, the different groups that make up the Program maintain collaborations with national and foreign research groups.
The research teams of these Departments and Centers that are part of the program have laboratories fully equipped for the development of the research work.
All the groups currently have financing provided by European, national and / or autonomous European plans.
