Doctoral student Brian Florez successfully defended his doctoral thesis with the title ''The mixed assessment of patients' experience to improve care health services: the case of patients with chronic kidney disease.” The defence took place the 11 of July.

The research highlights the importance of the quality of the service in medical care for patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). It focuses on three key aspects: the patient's safety, the efficacy of the treatment and the patient's experience. The study proposes a conceptual model that integrates systematic revisions and patient journey mapping (PJM) to evaluate the experience through different stages in the CKD. The successful implementation of PJM in Spain shows its cultural adaptability and effectiveness. The results emphasize the need for coordinated and personalized care, especially in advanced stages of the disease.
