The World Internet Day took place on 17 of May. The main purpose of this celebration is to acquaint users with the myriad of possibilities provided by the Internet. Nevertheless, the ETSE-UV wants to join this initiative set out by the Official Professional Association of Engineers in Informatics of the Valencian Community through the General Council of the Official Professional Association of Engineers in Informatics (CCII) called InformatiCALL. This initiative was tabled in the 1st European Committee on Informatics Engineering held in Madrid, on 20 of April, 2015.

InformatiCALL, is intended to be an area to support the appeal to Governments and the society on the products, activities and computer services in the Information and Knowledge Society.
We consider the Internet to be a very powerful tool which must be regulated by Governments and, thus, social awareness must be increased regarding its proper use; use that sometimes threatens our safety.
Therefore, as the CCII points outs, this initiative intends to make society aware of the following aspects:
“Carrying out a rigorously and deep assessment to determine the cases in which some kind of regulation or control to protect the citizens’ fundamental rights (Children, youngsters, the elderly and other especially vulnerable groups) should be stablished as well as the activities and services that the European legislation lays down as of general interest”.
“Creating governance mechanisms, control and regulation of the products, activities and computer services at a national, European and International, of a mode in accordance to the Information and Knowledge Society”.
