Nuria Oliver receives a Special Honorary Award at the Concepción Aleixandre ceremony on behalf of ETSE-UV

The jury committee of Concepción Aleixandre a la Dona Científica Valenciana has presented Nuria Oliver with a Special Honorary Award for her outstanding work.

This is the fourth female member of the Spanish Royal Academy of Engineering, a PhD professor at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), an inventor of more than 40 patents, a numerous prize holder, and one of the leading Spanish experts in technology. She was nominated for an award by the School of Engineering of the Universitat de València.

On the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, Picanya City Council presented the Concepción Aleixandre a la Dona Científica Valenciana Awards organised by the municipality to give voice to the female scientists and recognise their work in the Valencian Community.

A winner was chosen out of 15 applicants (13 of which belonged to the category of the Valencian Community and two to the local categories). The jury committee of this second round of awards consisted of Emilia Matallana (The Spanish Association of Women Researchers and Technologists - AMIT), Marcela Jabbaz (Universitat de València), María Fulgencia Villa (Universitat Politècnica de València), Daniel Ramón (a scientific director of Biópolis S.L, a company of the Scientific Park at the Universitat de València), and Milagros Julve (Retired Teachers Association of the Universitat de València - APJUV).
