
The video game sector hides much more stories than the usual chronicles about the classic “Pacman”, “Pong”, “Mario” and some big companies such as Atari, Nintendo or Sega. In this session we will focus on the Spanish situation at the beginning of the 80s, through one of the first video games programmed in Spain, which had success outside the country: “Bugaboo: The Flea” (1983)”
Speaker: Ignasi Medà Calvet (@8bitsSpain / @IgnaMeda) is graduated in Sociology (UB) and in the Master's Degree in History of Science (UAB). Currently, he is finishing the next doctoral thesis in the Centre for the History of Science (CEHIC) – UAB: “Study about the development, the dissemination and the social and cultural impact of the 8-bit video games in Spain (1983-1992)”
