[Biography, english version] Author of more than 100 scientific publications, in the form of books, chapters of books and collaborations in national and international academic journals. Director of “Diploma of business taxation”, and of the specialization course in “Tax management and accounting for cooperatives”, posgraduate degrees of the University of Valencia. Director of the "Social business clasroom" (Aulaempresocial) She has coordinated four research projects of the Spanish government fundamental non-oriented research programme on public policies on social economy, social entrepreneurship and the welfare state crisis, on collaborative (shared) economics, social economy and Welfare, and Innovative models of enterprises. She has advised organizations representing the social economy, such as ECE, CCAE, Coceta or Colegal, in the presentation of proposals for reform of the tax regime of cooperatives and labor societies, and in the various fiscal issues related to the sector. |

Biography | ||
Ester Machancoses García is Associate Professor of Financial and Tax Law at the University of Valencia, Spain. She studied Law at the University of Valencia and worked on her PhD at the University of Harvard in Boston, Frei Universität in Berlin and at the Institute of Fiscal Studies in Madrid. She has been a doctor in tax law since 2001, where she was awarded with the Prize for Best Doctorate Student. Internationally, she has been a visitant professor at the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation in Amsterdam. She has taught postgraduate sessions in several foreign universities. In particular, since 2012, she imparts some modules in the International Doctorate in Business and Tax Law, and in the master of banking law, of the University of San Carlos of Guatemala, which have taken place in Quetzaltenango (Guatemala), Guatemala, and Tegucigalpa (Honduras). Besides, she is currently teaching several master courses in international taxation in Spain. She is an expert in the field of International and European Taxation. She has published several articles, books and book chapters in different journals both nationally and internationally and has participated as a guest speaker at various meetings, both scientific and educational. She is currently working on different lines of research that have the common goal of fighting international tax fraud and evasion: international Information Exchange between tax administrations, taxation of the platform economy, double taxation and anti-BEPS measures against aggressive tax planning by big corporations. All this, in the framework of three national research projects related to the digital economy and anti-BEPS measures (FRAUDISCOR, AICO, DIGISOST), and a European research project on collaborative economy and inequalities (Jean Monnet Network SHINE, Sharing Economy and Inequalities across Europe) Regarding her academic management work, she has been the Coordinator of International Mobility Programs of the Degree in Law at the University of Valencia since 2009. |

Biography | |||
Paula Granell Ramírez is a predoctoral researcher (FPU) in the area of Financial and Tax Law at the University of Valencia. She is also a PhD student in the Law, Political Science and Criminology program at the University of Valencia. Her doctoral thesis, on transfer pricing, is directed by Professor Alfredo García Prats. Currently, she is a member of the International, Constitutional and Comparative Tax Studies (ETICCs) research group. She graduated in Law and Business Administration from the University of Valencia (2023). During her university education, she enjoyed a collaboration scholarship, awarded by the Spanish Ministry of Education, in the Department of Financial Law and Legal History. Later, she completed the Master's Degree in Taxation / Tax Consulting (2024) at the Center for Financial Studies (CEF) and the Distance University of Madrid (UDIMA), where she received the Excellence Scholarship. During this period, she worked as a Senior Research Support Technician on the Prometeo XXITAX Project “The necessary updating of tax systems in the face of the challenges of the 21st century” awarded by the Generalitat Valenciana. |
