Our main lines of research are: coastal geomorphology, coastal evolution, marine Quaternary, human action in littoral environments, lagoons, littoral dunes, periglacial forms and processes on Arctic coasts.

The main lines of research according to the OTRI (Office for the transfer of Research Results) are:

Coastal Geomorphology

This line deals with the genesis, modeling and evolution modeling of coastal zones at different latitudes. In the coastal system analysis we pay particular attention to sediment transport and marine dynamics parameters.

Evolution of the coastline

This line works in the oscillation of the coastline at different scales, from the evolution over the Quaternary period to the modifications made in the last decades due to human action on the coastal environment.

Coastal cliffs

This line focuses on the morphological description, typology and genetic and evolutionary processes of Holocene cliffs of the Mediterranean area, with special attention to the joint action of slope processes and marine dynamics.

Low Costs and coastal dunes

This line focuses on the analysis of the genesis and dynamics of littoral forms, such as shoals, lagoons, tombolos, beaches and dunes, with special attention to human action in the coastal environment and the conservation and restoration of coastal dunes.

Arctic Coasts

This line focuses on the analysis of periglacial processes and forms of the high-latitude coasts, as well as the thermokarst phenomena generated in them.
