The Degree of Geography and the Environment is the only one with this guidance offered in Spain. This degree has been offered at the University of Valencia from 2009-10 and now has a wealth of experience, given that comes from the old Bachelor of Geography and earlier, Geography and History.
Graduates in Geography and Environmental Sciences are qualified to work in the field of land management and planning at different territorial levels, particularly in reference to environmental, social, and geo-economic aspects. Geographers can carry out this kind of work using techniques derived from cartography, including GIS technology, and from statistical science, among others. Geographers also have a strong capacity for interdisciplinary teamwork and for cooperation with other professionals of the humanities, the social sciences, and the environmental sciences. In addition, they are qualified to teach Geography and Social Sciences at different levels (i.e., in elementary, secondary, and tertiary education).
