On July 14, 🎓 Viky Fajardo Castro successfully defended her doctoral thesis entitled "Challenges and Opportunities in the Inclusion of Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities: Psychosocial Aspects," supervised by Professors Vicente Martínez-Tur, Carolina Moliner, and Yolanda Estreder. The thesis was awarded the highest distinction, Sobresaliente Cum Laude, and also received the International Mention. 👏

The thesis analyzes, from a psychosocial perspective, the challenges and opportunities associated with the inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities across different social and organizational contexts. Structured around five empirical studies, it addresses leadership in service organizations, the impact of digitalization on integrated employment, the organizational factors that shape the well-being of workers with intellectual disabilities, inclusion processes within work teams, and the emotional dynamics underlying inclusive relationships.

The examination committee was composed of Professors Leonor Pais, Marisa Salanova, Miguel Angel Mañas, and José Ramos. The defense concluded with a discussion of the thesis's contributions to understanding inclusion as a dynamic, relational process, and its practical implications for organizations, professionals, and policymakers working toward more effective and sustained inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities. 💡
