The Universitat de València organises the “Conèixer la Universitat” programme with the aim of bringing the Universitat closer to high schools and showing future students its educational offer and services.
“Conèixer la Universitat” is an initiative of the Office of the Vice-Principal for Studies that is coordinated by the Information and Promotion Service (Sedi) and has the participation of the centres and services of the Universitat de València.
The Degree in Physical Activity and Sports Science aims to provide basic training applied to physical activity and sport in its various manifestations, and knowledge of its physiological, psychological and social foundations.
These studies prepare physical education teachers in secondary education, specialists in physical activity for health and specialists in sports training for beginners and high performance. In addition, this degree trains professional experts in sports planning, organisation and management who can work in the strictly sports field, in tourism and leisure, in sporting events, etc., both in public institutions and in private companies.
The recommended admission profile corresponds to a Graduate in Physical Education, Graduate in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences or with equivalent studies. You should have curiosity and research inquisitiveness to solve social problems related with physical exercise in its different contexts of application. Likewise, you should have work capacity and enough time to acquire the necessary skills to become a researcher.
The preferential admission to the master will be for applicants who certify their graduation in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences. Secondly for applicants who certify their graduation in the Diploma of Education specialized in Physical Education or Graduated in Primary School Education with special mention in Physical Education. The certification of other related Degrees (Psychology, Educational Psychology, Medicine, Pedagogy, etc.) also will be subject of non-preferential admission.
For applicants with other degrees the CCA would assess the need to demonstrate previous disciplinary training prior to study the master.
In the case that it should be necessary to prioritize applications, the selections of students will be made attending the following criteria:
Academic record (70%).
Research experience and publications (10%).
Knowledge of English (10%).
Other criteria or tests that CCA considers necessary (10%).
This Master’s degree is intended for people who hold a licenciatura or undergraduate degree in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences or any equivalent degree. They must be interested in sports management and have enough time and ability to acquire the skills needed to be a sports manager and a researcher in this field.
Priority will be given to applicants who hold a licenciatura in Physical Education, a licenciatura or undergraduate degree in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences, or a diplomatura or undergraduate degree in Primary School Education with specialisation in Physical Education.
If it is necessary to prioritise applications, the selection of students will be based on the following criteria:
- Academic record
- Experience in sports management
- Research experience and publications
- Knowledge of English level B1
- Other criteria or evidence that the Committee considers necessary for admission and selection.
The accreditation of other related licenciaturas and undergraduate degrees (Psychology, Psychology, Sociology, Economics, etc.) will also be subject to non-preferential admission. For applicants with other degrees or licenciaturas, the Admission and Selection Committee will evaluate the need to demonstrate previous education or training in the field of the Master’s.
