The Universitat de València calls the Juan Romero grants with the objective of recognising the merit and effort of new students and contributing to the equality of opportunities in the access of university studies.

The call for the Juan Romero grant –which will have one single edition–, addresses to students that are enrol for the first time in some of the following degrees in the 2026-2027 academic year: Degree in Geography and the Environment, Degree in Journalism and Double Degree in Law + Political Sciences and the Administration. With this initiative, the purpose is to boost the enrolment in these studies and attract students with a high level of motivation and academic performance, with a social, institutional and training relevance in these fields.

Beneficiaries

These grants are addressed to students who start in the 2026-2027 academic year their first year at the Universitat de València in any of the following degrees:

• Degree in Geography and the Environment
• Degree in Journalism
• Double Degree in Law + Political Sciences and the Administration

Funding

 3 grants of 10.000 euros will be given (for one student of each degree).

Requirements

To apply for these grants, you must meet, among others, the following requirements:

• To be enroled in the first degree academic year of the indicated degrees in the 2026-2027 academic year, for the first time and full-time. You must keep the enrolment active during this academic year.
• Minimum qualification of 7,00 points for the access grade to university.
• To have requested the MEC grant, for the 2026-2027 academic year, and to have obtained a favourable report about the fulfillment of the economic requirements.

Procedure and documentation phases

1. Publciation of the bases

• Call and complete bases [UV official board].
• Publication date on the DOGV: 8 May 2026.

2. Confirmation of the participation in the process

• It is not necessary to submit a request. The Universitat de València will send an e-mail to the enrolled student in the degrees that are object of the call and that meet the requirements with indications of how to confirm the participation in the process.
• These e-mails will be sent, approximately, in the month of October, once the allocation of places process waiting-list is finished.
• The deadline to accept the participation on this call is until 22 October 2026. 

3. Granting and acceptance

• Resolution of the granting [UV official board]. PENDING
  The acceptance deadline will be of 10 days since the publication of the resolution.

4. Justification and payment of the grants

The payment of the grant will be made in two instalments:

• First instalment: 3.000 euros. Once the final resolution of the grant is published and the beneficiary students accept it.
• Second instalment: 7.000 euros. When 42 completed credits of the first year are verified.
