David Cantarero Tomás

Teruel, 1979. Graduate in Fine Arts and Master in Contemporary Thought from the University of Barcelona, as well as a Master in Artistic Production from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, where he is currently studying for a doctorate in Art. His practice tackles different questions about the image, its different modes of appearance and functions and, in particular, the problem of representation, focusing on those dynamics that today require a critical approach and analysis.

Cantarero has participated in various competitions such as the Mislata Biennial Public Art Awards 2016, in artistic residencies such as the KUB-Land Vorarlberg (Austria, 2017) or the SAARI Residence (Finland, 2013). He has also received production grants such as the César e-Fluxus (Zaragoza, 2019) and the BilbaoArte Foundation Grants (Bilbao, 2016). His work has been exhibited in Finland, Austria and Mexico, as well as in galleries, art centres and national museums such as Etopia, Centro de Arte y Tecnología (Zaragoza), the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB) or the Centro del Carmen Cultura Contemporánea (Valencia), among others.
