Students exercise their right to vote at the polling stations of their centre. If you are unable to vote in person, you may vote early.

Personal early voting

Who can make use of this option: any elector.

Where: at the dean's office of the centre where you are studying.

How: the vote has to be prepared in a sealed envelope, without any indication or inscription, which must be placed inside another envelope on the front of which the following must be indicated: the election in question indicated (ADR –Student Council Branch–, Centre Board, Senate, and others), polling station (faculty), the group in relation to which the vote is being cast (in this case, students) and the indication Early Voting.

The vote can be cast on the official ballot paper if it is already available. If it is not, on a sheet of paper on which the voter must record their vote in a sufficiently clear manner.

Electors must identify themselves with their ID card, passport, driving licence or university card, if it has a photograph, so that it can be verified that the person is registered in the census and accredits their personality.

Early voting through another person

Who can make use of this option: electors who are unable to vote in person or who find it extraordinarily difficult to vote due to duly justified circumstances. The following are understood to be justified causes:

  • Illness that makes it difficult to vote in person.
  • Stay outside the University the election day on the occasion of leave, study or research stays, including Erasmus and similar stays.
  • Work reasons.
  • Others of force majeure.

Where: at the dean's office of the centre where you are studying.

How: an envelope has to be prepared and on its front the following must be indicated: the election in question (ADR, Centre Board, Senate, and others), polling station (faculty), the group in relation to which the vote is being cast (in this case, students) and the indication Early voting by third party. This envelope must be signed on the flap by the elector in such a way that it is impossible to open said flap without tearing the signature.

The envelope must contain inside:

  • The vote, inside another sealed envelope, without any indication or inscription.
  • A written statement by the elector indicating their wish to vote.
  • Copy of the document accrediting the elector's identity.
  • Document justifying the reason given for early voting through another person.

The vote can be cast on the official ballot paper if it is already available. If it is not, on a sheet of paper on which the voter must record their vote in a sufficiently clear manner.
