The Chair for Agri-food Cooperatives celebrates an educational seminar for students

Universitat de València chair for Agri-food Cooperatives celebrated a seminar for students on 8 October 2025 in order to bring the legal, economical and social reality of agri-food cooperativism closer to students. The seminar took place at room S312 and gathered specialised professors of different areas related to social economy.

The session started at 3:30 p.m. with an introduction about the Chair's work in charge of Universitat de València full-time university professor in Finance and Tax Law, and Head of the Chair Pilar Alguacil.

The first session, named '¿Qué es una cooperative agroalimentaria?' ('What is an agri-food cooperative?') in charge of Universitat de València doctor assistant in Finance and Tax Law Teresa Puchol Tur. The intervention allowed students to understand the basics, the inner working and the social dimension of the cooperative model in agri-food.

The second session by applied Economy professor Antonia Sajardo analysed the economic and social relevance of agri-food cooperatives, remarking their strategic role for the territory and sustainability in the value chains.

The closing session was in charge of Pilar Alguacil once again, tackling the legal and tax regime of cooperatives, deepeing in the regulation particularities of the sector and its social economy tax advantages.

This activity lies within the frame of university dissemination of the Chair for Agri-food Cooperatives and has the support of the Generalitat Valenciana, reflected in the graphic material of the seminar.
