The objectives of the Institute are systematized in response to its status as academic entity in the context of the Statutes of the University of Valencia. In agreement with the internal regulations in force, the objectives of the Institute are the following:
- To promote specific interdisciplinary research projects, coordinating different works which are developed at the University in different areas of knowledge.
- To promote new research lines and to encourage collaboration and the training of research teams.
- To organise courses for the university community with the objective of contributing to scientific dissemination.
- To establish scientific cooperation relationships with other national or international university institutes, as well as with other entities and related centres.
- To disseminate the activities and studies of the Institute through; periodicals, organisation of seminars and lectures and participation in conferences.
- To collaborate with public and private entities in the development of activities of scientific, technical or academic interest, as well as in specialisation, updating or training courses.
Summarizing, the Institute aims to promote scientific cooperation relationships with other entities and institutions and especially to develop alternative proposals in order to meet the social demands in the areas of its research and academic activity.
