Iberians visit the Faculty

Iberians will visit the Faculty of Geography and History the next 12 May during a seminar organised  by Universitat de València Prehistory,Archeology and Ancient History Department together with University Institute of Educational Creativity and Innovation (IUCIE) and Museu de Prehistòria de València.

Iberians will visit the Faculty of Geography and History the next 12 May, at l’Agora Prometheus, during a seminar that will be marked by the large number of activities offered to students and anyone interested in the Iberian lifestyle and culture. This activity is organised by Universitat de València Prehistory,Archeology and Ancient History Department together with University Institute of Educational Creativity and Innovation (IUCIE) and Museu de Prehistòria de València.

The seminar will start at 11.00 in the morning with the opening ceremony led byEsther Alba, the Faculty of Geography and History dean. Afterwards, half an hour after, a series of activities will be conducted with the objective of encouraging attendees to participate. To this end, we consider various options as for example learning Iberian writing or producing your own coin. Attendees can also choose between using the rotating hand mill, dressing in typical Iberian garbs, classifying Iberian pottery or visiting the Library of Musey de Prehistòria which allows you to participate in the drawing of a set of books of great value because of its interest content.

This first activity will end at 13.00. At that point will begin the presentation of the book “L’altiplà de Requena-Utiel entre els segles II a.C  - II d.C.: La romanització del territori ibèric de Lekin” (Requena-Utiel highlands between II B.C and II A.D centuries: The Romanization of Kelin’s Iberian territory) by David Quizal Santos carried out by professor Consuelo Mata and Joaquim Cabanilles. At the end there will be another draw of various books. At 14.00 there will be an appetizer in which we will offer an iberian aperitif based on the traditional gastronomy of Iberian period.

Workshops will continue at 16.00 that would have started at 11.30 that very morning so that everybody can enjoy the activity and also participate in the workshops. Finally, at 19.00, to put the end to a great seminar, we will enjoy Ovidi Twins concert.
