The students of the Master’s Degree in Business Management of the Universitat de València (MBA) accompanied by the professors participated in an interesting visit to the facilities of the Heineken factory where they discovered and learnt some key points about the main organisation and management aspects of a large company, like Heineken.
The visit was last 3 May and a total of 15 students of the master’s degree participated in it. During the event they were addressed by Eva García, one of the people in charge of the company. She explained the history and the development of the multinational, of the manufacturing process and of the specific logistics of the company. Heineken is the most international beer company, which is committed to satisfy all its consumers around the world. In Spain, it is present together with Cruzcampo, Amstel or Buckler. Also in Spain, it has 1,750 employees who are part of a group formed by more than 85,000 people distributed in a total of 70 countries and 165 factories.
Furthermore, she also offered different guidelines, related to organisation aspects, as well as details referring to the management of a large company, which has some given main characteristics. A visit that was not only a pleasing experience for the students, but it also allowed them to collect some useful key points for their academic and professional training.
Last 10 March, the students of the MBA also had the opportunity to visit the facilities of the Science and Technology Park of the UV, where they visited the Biópolis, a biotechnological company established in 2003, which is focused on the design, purification, validation and production of microbial strains and products derived from the high added value (enzymes, proteins, biopharmaceuticals, biopolymers, active pharmaceutical substances and synthesis intermediates). They apply these classic fermentation or design techniques by metabolic engineering. In their tour, the 12 students who attended the meeting were addressed by Toni Raga, director of the PCUV, Fernando Zárraga, manager of the FPCUV and Javier Echevarría, CEO of Biópolis.
These two activities were created thanks to the implication that of the MBA, together with the Universitat de València, has with its students. The master’s degree has a main priority the training of its students, through an actualised teaching system, taught by reference professionals, in which they use both theoretical and practical instruments, as well as several complementary activities that offer important key points for the future of each students. These are also a close help that the professors constantly provide for students.
