The Faculty of Economics at the Universitat de València hosted the closing ceremony of the current year of its innovative Mentoring Club.

The event, established as a key space for student’s professional development, featured the Vice-Principal for Economics and Planning, Rosa María Yagüe Perales, responsible for officially closing the event.

The main focus of the event was the digital transformation ant the generational change. The master class lecture was undertaken by Magdalena Cordero, who, under the title of ‘Transformación Digital: talento, cultura y liderazgo en un mundo cambiante’ (‘Digital Transformation: talent, culture, and leadership in a changing world’), reflected on how fast the current technologic knowledge expires and the adaptation difficulties of non-digital natives.

Inspired by this lecture, a strategic proposal was made during the closing speech to the Advisory Council: the future implementation of ‘Inverse Mentoring’. This initiative is intended for the new mentee generations to serve also as mentors for the most experienced professionals, thanks to their native skills in digital environments.

While this project comes to fruition, the Club confirmed its commitment to continuing promoting young talent through the generous exchange of virtual and professional experiences, establishing itself one more year as an essential and innovative cornerstone of the faculty.
