Marcelino Martínez-Sober obtained his Bachelor’s and PhD degrees in Physics from the University of Valencia in 1992 and 2000, respectively. He is currently a Full Professor in the Department of Electronic Engineering at the School of Engineering (ETSE-UV) of the University of Valencia, where he teaches courses on Data Analysis within the Master’s Degree in Data Science and the Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, for which he also serves as coordinator. His research activity is carried out within the IDAL research group (http://idal.uv.es). He has participated in more than 25 publicly funded research projects and over 40 research transfer contracts with the productive sector, in areas such as industrial control, real-time digital signal processing, data mining, and anomaly detection. His main research interests include digital signal processing and exploratory data analysis as the first stage in knowledge discovery from data, as well as anomaly detection techniques, which have resulted in numerous publications in specialized journals and conference proceedings. |

Prof. Dr. Luis Gómez-Chova is Full Professor at the Department of Electronics Engineering, University of Valencia, Spain, and Senior Researcher with the Image and Signal Processing Group at the Imaging Processing Laboratory (IPL). He received the B.Sc. (with first-class honors), M.Sc., and Ph.D. (summa cum laude) degrees in electronic engineering from the University of Valencia, Spain, in 2000, 2002 and 2008, respectively. He was the recipient of the National Award for Electronic Engineering by the Spanish Ministry of Education. He has completed different doctoral and postdoctoral stays at prestigious research centers (ESA, DLR, DTU). He is a senior researcher of the Image and Signal Processing (ISP, isp.uv.es) group at the Image Processing Laboratory (IPL), where his research focuses on machine learning and image processing, particularly in the application domains of remote sensing data analysis and multispectral image processing. He conducts and supervises research on these topics within the framework of many national and international projects. He has been involved in many national projects with public funds, many international projects funded by the European Space Agency (ESA), and by the EU. In particular, he has leaded the development of the cloud detection algorithms for PROBA/CHRIS, ENVISAT MERIS & AATSR, Proba-V, SPOT-VGT, Landsat-8/9, and Sentinel-2, instruments in the frame of several projects. He was the recipient of the Google Earth Engine Award 2015, which was used to fund the 'Cloud detection in the Cloud' project. He is member of the ESA Proba-V Quality Working Group and he has developed the operational cloud detection algorithms implemented in the SPOT-VGT archive reprocessing and Proba-V ground segment. He is the author (or coauthor) of more than 75 international journal papers (JCR), more than 160 international conference papers, and several international book chapters. He holds a Hirsch's h index h=50 (Google Scholar).
