The Official University Master's Degree in Research, Treatment, and Associated Pathologies in Drug Addiction (DITPA) aims to train professionals who acquire the necessary knowledge, capabilities, competencies, and skills to apply in the sectors specific to the intervention in addictive behaviors.
Within this generic objective, External Internships (PE) seek to promote the acquisition and refinement or consolidation of the procedures, techniques, and methods that allow students to perform in the field of drug addiction, thereby facilitating the improvement of the health, quality of life, and psychological and social well-being of patients. They are oriented towards the acquisition of information, knowledge, competencies, and practice required for exercising a specific professional role that exists and is in demand in the labor market. Thus, the placements offered in the PE subject aim to cover the set of professional profiles specific to the professional field of Psychology and other related areas, and the field of psychological, pharmacological, and social intervention applied in the sectors specific to the intervention in addictive behaviors.
This acquisition takes place through collaboration with professionals who carry out their activity in a workplace external to the Faculty (external tutor) and under the tutelage of the Faculty's teaching staff (internal tutor). It is, therefore, an experience lived in real work contexts that makes it possible to acquire the competencies detailed in the specific PE guide.

The workload for the PE consists of a total of 450 hours. These hours are distributed as follows: 400 hours in in-person activities, divided into 350 hours at the healthcare center and 50 hours for monitoring and tutoring the internships. In addition to 50 hours of non-in-person activities dedicated to writing the final report.
For the evaluation of the PE, the submission of a final report will be necessary, which should set out the structure and functioning of the internship location, the list of activities performed, and the conclusions reached. The evaluation will take into account the external tutor's report (40%) and the internal tutor's report (60%), which will assess attendance at tutorials, periodic reports, and the final report submitted.
