The Master’s Degree is constituted of 120 credits to be developed in two academic years and is linked to the Doctoral Programme in Research in Psychology. Each year is divided in 60 credits, organised in four modules per year (see curriculum, verified by ANECA - National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation). The teaching is face-to-face.

In the first year are taught the topics related to the neurobiology of drug addiction, the prevention, diagnosis and intervention in drug addiction, drug addiction in the social field and health field and advances in treatment of drug addiction and dual pathology.  The second year offers complementary training, ethics, professional deontology and drug addiction legislation, and the module specialised training: research in drug addiction.

In the second year the job placements are carried out (in specialised centres for prevention and treatment of drug addiction) as well as the master’s degree final project. Furthermore, the Master’s Degree organises periodically conferences and seminars on specific topics, given by international and national renowned experts.

The general objective of the Master’s Degree is to train professionals with specialised scientific knowledge who are able to understand, interpret and analyse the addictive behaviour in drug addiction as well as to develop evaluation and intervention skills (see basic, general and specific competences section).
