Assessment criteria for admission to the master's degree program
The Academic Coordination Committee (CCA) selects students based on scientific and academic criteria, considering:
To be admitted, it is essential to hold a diploma or degree in Physiotherapy, or a related degree. In this regard, related degree refers to a degree whose contents of the study plan of the university of origin are at least 75% similar to our bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy and have sufficient credits so that in the country of origin it gives access to master's degree studies. A certificate from the home university accrediting these criteria will therefore be required.
Each candidate is assigned a score for each of the criteria specified below:
a) Grades obtained in the diploma or degree in physiotherapy.
b) For postgraduate training in the field of physiotherapy.
c) Specific work experience in one of the advanced training tracks offered in the master's program.
Section a) will assess academic records on a scale of 1 to 10, considering the average grade as an assessment criterion.
This section (a) will account for 75% of the total value of the admission score.
With regard to criterion b), university degrees (official or in-house) related to the field of physiotherapy submitted will be assessed based on the number of hours, according to the following table:
- For courses exceeding 100 hours = 0.5 points.
- For courses between 250 and 499 hours = 1 point.
- For courses between 500 and 749 hours = 1.5 points.
- For courses between 749,750 and 1,000 hours = 2 points.
In case hours are defined by ECTS credits, the same score will be calculated by multiplying the student hours by 25.
In the case of official master's degrees worth 60 or 120 ECTS credits, the score will be 2.5 points.
This section (b) will account for 10% of the total value of the admission score.
Section c) will consider the time worked in physiotherapy services or units. This must be documented by means of a work history report and a certificate or employment contract.
It will be assessed at a rate of 1 point for every six months worked, with a limit of 6 points (equivalent to 3 years of work).
For periods of less than 6 months, 0.17 points will be awarded for each month worked.
If the accredited work experience does not correspond to the training of the program in which the applicant is enrolled, a correction factor of 0.8 will be applied.
Work experience will account for 15% of the total admission score.
If applicable, an optional personal interview will be conducted, as determined by the CCA, in which aspects such as concerns and assessment of therapeutic practice in the field of Physiotherapy will be considered, as well as specific interest in pursuing the master's degree and future prospects.
Foreign students who wish to enroll in the master's degree must have C1 level proficiency in either of the two co-official languages of the Valencian Community.
AGREEMENT RATIFIED BY THE ACADEMIC COORDINATION COMMITTEE ON 6/18/2025.
