
The professor Carlos Esplugues Mota, Full University Professor of International Law of the Universitat de València and director of the Master’s degree in Law, Business and Justice of the UV, has been invited to the Xiamen Academy of International Law (Xiamen, People Republic of China) for giving the course ‘International Trade, Foreign Investment and National Security’.
The Xiamen Academy of International Law was founded in 2005 with the aim of encouraging academic exchanges across the planet. Located in the famous city of Xiamen, the academy develops among its most remarkable activities a summer course in which the most outstanding specialists in Public International Law and Private International Law of the world participate. On this occasion, Prof. Esplugues shares a presence with Prof. Weller (University of Cambridge, UK), Dempsey (McGill University, Canada), Nakagawa (University of Tokyo, Japan), Patel (Gujarat National Law University, India) and Sloane (Boston University, USA).
The Professor Esplugues is the President of the Spanish Association of Professors of International Law and International Relations. Furthermore, has an extensive and recognised work in the field of private international law, European law and international trade law. His production is wide in number and subjects covered (502 publications, 4 books as sole author, 62 as director, editor or author of chapters in international books, 317 as director, editor or author in national works, 42 articles in international legal journals and 76 articles in national legal journals). His work, published in Spanish, English, Russian and Japanese, has a wide impact in Spain and abroad. In this sense, Carlos is in the top 2% in academia.edu and the top 3.53% in ssrn.com (on May 2016). Carlos Esplugues is director of two manuals for general use in Spain and Latin America: Derecho internacional privado (con Iglesias Buhigues y Palao Moreno, Valencia, Tirant, 9ª ed., 2015) and Derecho del comercio internacional (Valencia, Tirant, 6ª ed., 2015).
