
The Palace of La Magdalena, headquarters of the prestigious Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo (UIMP), hosted from 29 August to 2 September the course ‘ Las crisis migratorias : ¿del drama al abandono del modelo de la UE?'
The course was directed by the Dr. Carlos Esplugues Mota, Full university professor of International Privat Law, member of the excellence investigation group MedArbValencia and President of the Asociación Española de Profesores de Derecho Internacional y Relaciones Internacionales (AEPDIRI) which with more than 800 members, gathers most of the Spanish professors of International Public Law, International Private Law and International relations of Spain.
Theme
The objective of the course is to analyse, from different points, the way that immigration and asylum policies are being carried out by the European Union, paying special attention to the mechanisms for the protection of borders out of the EU, the problems of the integration of the most vulnerable groups and the insufficient humanitarian assistance. It has also been treated the relationships of living that migration generates in the receiving countries and the perspective of security that is applied.
