Carlos Esplugues was the keynote speaker in the international seminar in Chile

The seminar under the name ‘New trends in foreign investment and international trade’ was organised by the Master’s Degree in Law and the PUCV, Chile, on the last November 3.

The academic from the University of Valencia, Dr. Carlos EspluguesMota, led the international seminar "New trends in Foreign Investment and International Trade", organized by the Master in Law of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso.

Professor Esplugues is Professor of Private International Law at the Universitat de València and Director of the Master's Degree in Law, Business and Justice at the Universitat de València. Since 2013, he is also president of the Spanish Association of Professors of International Law and International Relations. His academic degrees include a Master of Science in Law from the University of Edinburgh; Master in Law from Harvard Law School and a Doctorate in Law from the Universitat de València.

He is the author of 4 monographs as a single author and has nearly 400 book chapters in works published both in Spain and abroad in leading publishers, as well as 120 articles in national and international journals. He has also served as principal investigator and member of 36 research projects, of which 14 are European and international, and as arbitrator and international mediator.

The seminar was commented on by Dr. José Luis Guerrero, professor of Economic and Negotiation Law in the Department of Business Law at the Law School of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, who, like Professor Esplugues, has postgraduate degrees at the Universitat de València.
