
On 29 November 2018, the Universitat de Barcelona held the international conference “Adaptability and Coherence of the Community Rules of Private International Law”. The professors Esplugues and Quinzá were involved.
The professor in Private International Law of the Universitat de Barcelona, Joaquim Forner Delaygua, invited the professors Carlos Esplugues Mota (Manager of the UV Master’s Degree in Law, Business and Justice; and member of the research groups MedArbValencia and PROMETEO 2018/111) and Pablo Quinzá (professor of the UV Master’s Degree in Law, Business and Justice; and member of MedArbValencia). They debated on the adaptability and coherence of the Community Rules of Private International Law in the international conference that took place in the Faculty of Law of the Universitat de Barcelona.
The professors Esplugues and Quinzá spoke alongside important national and international specialists in the matter, including the UV honorary professor in Private International law, José Luis Iglesias Buhigues.
The intervention of the professor Quinzá was entitled “Choice of Court Agreements related to marital crisis and its effects. The flexibility and coherence problems of the Rules 2201/2003, 4/2009 and 2016/1103”. The professor Esplugues presided over and moderated the panel of discussion entitled “Individuals and Family”.
The conference was conducted within the national project DER2016-75318-P (“Mutual Adaptation and Coherence of the Community Rules of Private International Law”), which managed by the professor in International Private Law of the Universitat de Barcelona, Joaquim Forner Delaygua.
