The International Conference “SUSTAINABLE JUSTICE IN SITUATION OF GLOBAL CHANGE: WHERE ARE WE AND WHICH WAY ARE WE HEADED?” was held last 4th and 5th of February at the Faculty of Law of the University of Valencia. This conference falls within the framework of the course taught by professor Dr h.c. mult Silvia Barona “Civil procedure: new technologies and challenges of a globalised era”. A total of 21 lecturers from prestigious centres, both national and international, participated. During these 2 intense days, debates on the following topics took place: the challenges related to Civil Law in Europe and Latin America; Europe’s influence on the Spanish civil procedural model, focusing on Justice and Politics; the guardianship of vulnerable groups, minors, women, and consumers; the analysis of the progress made so far and the progress still to make, and a final debate on the dilemmas surrounding the tests set in Civil Procedure and algorithms for judges and court decision, between court argumentation and algorithmisation. The intergenerational and interdisciplinary debates and the participation of theorists and practitioners, of lawyers and magistrates and the direct participation of the CENDOJ (CGPJ) director allowed the conference to conclude with a highly satisfied audience.
