The Royal Academy of Jurisprudence and the Legislation and the Pro Royal Academy Case-law and Legislation awarded the prestigious San Raimundo of Peñafort Prize, in its VIII Edition, to professor José Miguel Embid and the grant holder of research Paula del Val, of the Manuel Broseta Commercial Law Pont Department of Universitat de València.

The awarded work is titled “Corporative social responsibility and capital companies rights: between legislative regulation and soft law”.

The award will be given in a public event which will be celebrated in Madrid, and the Academy will edit the work. The expression “corporative social responsibility” includes a number of internships voluntarily performed by the enterprises (about all, the greatest listed companies in stock), external, commonly, to profitable aim which characterise them due to their action on the market. These internships distinguish themselves because they favour the sustainability, they promote a demanding compliance in the existing legislation or to promote some actions on venture philanthropy, among other aims.

The work attempts to outline its characters, its possible integration in social interest of enterprises, the controversial training of customs binding for those who practice it and, in the end, its articulation in the organizational and functional framework of companies law. There is reference, in regard to this, to issues of so much interest as the socially responsible investment or gender equality in the government of the enterprises, among many other questions, which gives the study a significant grown.
