The opening of the Russian Centre of the University of Valencia took place on 5 April. The main objectives of the Centre are the dissemination of Russian language and culture, as well as the promotion of relations with Russian universities and the mobility of their members.

The Russian Centre of the University of Valencia will become the second to open in Spain, after the one at the University of Granada. The academic management of the centre in Valencia has been entrusted to Professor Palao Moreno. The Rector of the University of Valencia, as well as the Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Spain and the Executive Director of the Russian World Fund, participated in the opening ceremony.
