Talk by Blanca Vilà, full university professor at the UAB

On 4 March took place the seminar New justice scenes in the European Union: ADR v. ordinary justice in the field of mortgages and in terms of investments. This seminar is framed within the projects Mediation, arbitration and jurisdiction in the current justice paradigm: integration, glocalisation, public law and ODR as some of its challenges (PROJECT MICINN DER 2013-44739-R) and Mediation and arbitration: globalization or localization (PROMETEU II 2014/081).

This seminar, hosted and moderated by professor Dr Carlos Esplugues Mota, full university professor of Private International Law and director of the Master’s Degree, also had the presence of professors Blanca Vilà, full university professor of Private International Law at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, and Enrique Fernández Masiá, tenured university professor of Private International Law of the Castilla-La Mancha University.

Blanca Vilà talked about the unfair terms in the mortgage field, paying special attention in the jurisprudence of the Court of Justice of the European Union and in the prejudicial matters brought before the Court by the Spanish authorities. On the other hand, the talk of Enrique Fernández Masiá focused on the last advances in terms of Investment Arbitration and its current role in the international scene.
