The Faculty of Law of the University of Valencia is holding the seminar series “Feminisms for Law” this November, an initiative designed to reflect on current challenges in the fields of justice, gender, and human rights. The sessions will take place every Thursday at 4:00 p.m. in the Assembly Hall 4P14 bis.

The first seminar, scheduled for 13 November, is entitled “Restorative Justice in Cases of Sexual Violence”. The presentation will be delivered by Verònica Gisbert, member of the Antipunitives Support Group, and moderated by Andrea García. The session will explore new approaches to addressing sexual violence beyond the traditional punitive model, analysing strategies of reparation and victim support.
On 27 November, the second session will take place under the title “Stereotypes in the Justice System”, delivered by Elisa Simó and moderated by Alejandra Ramírez. This seminar will delve into the persistence of gender biases within the judicial system and their practical consequences in rulings and legal proceedings.
The series is directed by Elisa Simó, Estrella del Valle, and Ruth Mestre, and is jointly organised by the University of Valencia, the University Institute of Human Rights, the Equality Unit and DiverSitats, with the collaboration of the Faculty of Law.
This academic initiative aims to offer a space for critical analysis and specialised training for the entire university community interested in the intersection between feminism and law.
