The Master’s Degree on Medical Physics is addressed to those students who meet the requirements established by the UV and show interest for this interdisciplinary field which is between the Sciences and Health Sciences areas.
Because of this, the most appropriate profiles which are more likely get the maximum advantage of this study are students coming from Degrees on Physics, Chemistry and Engineering; or just from new degrees or titles in which the student has attended Atomic and Nuclear Physics subjects. This way, graduates in Medicine who are specialised in Radiology, Radiotherapy or Nuclear Medicine or those residing in these specialities are considered as appropriate.
To access the Master’s Degree as a graduate coming from titles that do not match these requirements is also viable as long as they are admitted in the selection process. In these cases, the person who is interested must prove knowledge on the following subjects:
- Structure of the atom
- Ionizing radiation
This knowledge can be proved through the following ways:
a) Grades certificate of their university of origin stating they attended and passed the specified subjects.
b) Proved professional experience in the field of Physics (must be evaluated by the committee).
c) Seminar, academic years or others Master’s Degrees.
Those students that cannot prove the specified knowledge through these ways can submit the pre-registration but must attend training complements that will be indicated to improve their starting level.
