Last Monday, 24 November 2025, in the laboratory of the Departmental Section of Microbiology at the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry of the University of Valencia, the students of the Master’s Degree in Tropical Parasitic Diseases, guided by Emeritus Professor Dr. Rafael Borrás, carried out the practical session on Opportunistic Protozoa, within the course Human Protozooses.

They learned and performed themselves the different staining protocols (Weber, Ryan, Trichrome, Toluidine Blue O, etc.). Finally, they conducted a comparative study on the sensitivity of the different microscopic diagnostic procedures for coccidiosis, microsporidiosis and pneumocystosis.
