Governing Council meeting of April 29th

After the inauguration of the new Executive Council of the Universitat on April 5th, a series of appointments have been made in the principal’s delegation and the direction of the university services, of which the principal has reported today to the Governing Council.

The principal has reported to the Governing Council of the Universitat, held this Friday, April 29th, of the following appointments:

• Joel González, professor from the Department of Genetics, has been appointed Delegate of the Principal for Strategic Research Actions;

• Pedro Morillo, professor from the Department of Computer Science, has been appointed Delegate of the Principal for the Languages Centre, thus ceasing his role of Director of the Electronic Management of the Universitat;

• Alícia Villar, professor from the Department of Sociology and Social Anthropology, has been appointed Delegate of the Principal for Academic Careers, thus reinforcing the role of her work development so far as Head of initiatives in this field;

• Esteban Sanchis, the former Delegate of the Principal for Mobility, has been appointed Delegate of the Principal for the FORTHEM Alliance, a strategic project of the Universitat de València in the construction of European alliances and the deployment of mobility;

• Antonio Alberola, professor from the Department of Physiology, has been appointed Head of the Health and Safety and the Environment Service:

• José Javier Navarro, professor from the Department of Social Work and Social Services, has been appointed Head of the Lifelong Learning Service, relieving professor Ferran Suay in his role;

• Ferran Suay, professor from the Department of Psychobiology, has been appointed Head of the Languages Service, replacing professor Rafael Castelló, who has been thanked by the principal for his dedication over two different principal terms leading this Service at the Universitat;

The principal has also reported that, as of May 1st:

• Carlos Romá, professor of the Department of Physiology, will join the role of Academic Head of Lifelong Learning, replacing the Academic Head of the UV-specific degrees, Pilar Serra, who ceased her role to join the Executive Council;

• Rosa Mochales, current Chief of the Technical and Maintenance Service, will join as Head of the Equality Unit, replacing Amparo Mañés, who has been leading the Unit during two different principal terms. She has been thanked by the principal for her work over these years.
