XIII International Congress of the Spanish Society for the study of Anxiety and Stress

Between the 9th and 11th of March, the Centre Cultural La Nau of the University of Valencia welcomed the XIII Edition of the International Congress of the Spanish Society for the study of Anxiety and Stress

The event organized by the Spanish Society for the Study of Anxiety and Stress (SEAS for its acronym in Spanish) started with the inauguration act in which participated the rector of the University of Valencia, Maria Vicenta Mestre, the councillor of Public Health and Healthcare, Miguel Mínguez; the general director of Universities, Pilar Ezpeleta; the councillor of Health, Consumption and Tourism, Emiliano García; the president of the Stress and Health Research Group (GIES for its acronym in Spanish), Joaquim T. Limonero; the dean of the Faculty of Psychology, Antonio M. Ferrer and the president of the COP, Francisco Santolaya.

After the presentation act, the rector offered an inaugural conference with the topic “Mental health on teenagers and youngsters in the post-covid society”. The program that the Congress offered throughout the three days of its duration has taken place in different spaces of La Nau and has covered various strands of the main topic through conferences, round tables, theme sessions and a poster exposition.

Some of the topics of the theme sessions were “Protection and psychopathology factors: in search of the good side”, by Dr. Rosa Baños Rivera; “The use of images associated to autobiographic memories for the emotional regulation in elderly people”, exposed by Dr. Laura Ros Segura or “The consequences of thinking too much or negatively: influence of rumination, meta-cognition and dysfunctional beliefs in post-traumatic stress, the complicated duel and the emotional symptomatology” analysed by Dr. Jose Manuel Sánchez Marqueses.
