Biography
 

Associate Professor of Pharmacology at the Universitat de València., she earned her degree in Pharmacy in 1990 and completed her PhD in 1994. Following a postdoctoral fellowship at the New York University Medical Center (NYU), she continued her research career there, eventually attaining the position of Assistant Research Professor. During this period, she worked in several research areas related to cell signaling, inflammation, and adenosine receptors, leading a research line focused on promoting cutaneous wound healing through agonists of these receptors.

Her research has focused on the study of the pathophysiological mechanisms involved in inflammatory skin diseases, with particular emphasis on identifying new therapeutic targets. She has participated in and led several nationally and internationally competitive research projects and is a member of the Interuniversity Research Institute for Molecular Recognition and Technological Development (IDM). In recent years, she has incorporated a gender perspective and the analysis of health inequalities into her research activities and has also been involved in cooperation initiatives linked to a UNESCO Chair.

She is actively engaged in teaching at the Universitat de València. She teaches in the Master's Degree in Research and Rational Use of Medicines, coordinates the Pharmacology course in the Pharmacy degree programme, and participates in the PhD Programme in Biomedicine and Pharmacy. She has supervised numerous undergraduate and master's dissertations as well as doctoral theses, and is actively involved in initiatives promoting educational innovation and the rational use of medicines.
