Inflammatory disorders are the basis of many human diseases. Therefore, the study of inflammatory processes and design of drugs for treatment is a field of research with great impact and social importance.
 
The research group Pharmacology of Inflammation, GINFAR, of the University of Valencia, led by Professor Maria Jose Alcaraz, focuses its work on the mechanisms involved in inflammatory processes and the identification of new therapeutic targets for the treatment of many inflammatory diseases with great impact on society. Through various experimental models evaluates different sets of anti-inflammatory drugs, some of them are seafood analogs.
 
The group is made up of specialized researchers in the field of pharmacology. It is attached to the Joint Center for Molecular Recognition and Technological Development (IDM), participated by the University of Valencia and the Polytechnic University of Valencia.
