University of La Rioja celebrated the 27th State Encounter of University Citizen Rights Defense on 15, 26 and 17 October, attending the grievance trustee and vice-trustee.
The opening took place on Wednesday afternoon, in charge of the institutional and academic authorities. The, the first session ‘Puentes de diálogo: comunicación, escucha activa y empatía en las Defensorías Universitarias’ (‘Bridges of Speech: Communication, Active Listening and Empathy of University Rights Defence’) was moderated by University of La Rioja Rebeca Viguera. Participating Alicia Pérez de Albéniz and Adriana Díez from University of La Rioja; Juan Carlos Tejedor, Chief Inspector and Negotiatior of the National Police Force; and Elena Gómez, of the European University of Madrid.
The second session took place on 16 with the title ‘Los protocolos antiacoso sexual universitario: cohabitación con la comisión de convivencia y el respecto de las garantías en la incoación de expedientes disciplinarios’ (‘University Anti-Sexual Harassment Protocols: Cohabitation of the Coexistence Commission and Respect for Guarantees of the Disciplinary File Initiation’). Participating University of Barcelona Pilar Rivas, University of Castilla y la Mancha Ágata M.ª Sanz and University of País Basco Ana I. Pérez. The session was moderated by University of Barcelona Juan Carlos Horta.
The third session, named ‘Adaptaciones curriculares para el estudiantado con discapacidad: análisis y reflexión desde las Defensorías Universitarias’ (‘Curricular Adaptation for Students with Disabilities: Analysis and Reflection from the University Citizen Rights Defence’), moderated by the Polytechnical University of Madrid Ángel A. Rodríguez. Participating University of Sevilla Mercedes Loma and University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria David Sánchez.
The ordinary CEDU Assembly took place in the afternoon in which the presidency and executive commission were renewed. Ángel A. Rodríguez Sevillano was elected president. We want to congratulate him and the rest of the team.
The CEDU 2025 work groups results were presented on 17, after which the Conference came to an end.
