The main objective of this web is to help you through this process of reflection for you to make a realistic decision on your future studies and career. On this web you may find an answer to the questions and doubts you have in this moment, such as:

  • What does the Degree in Chemistry consist of?
  • What facilities and teaching staff does the Faculty of Chemistry offers me?
  • Which are the challenges I am going to face up in this Degree?
  • What do former students of this Degree think about it?
  • What are the studies related to it?
  • Which motivations and capacities are the most convenient?
  • Which career opportunities and professional perspectives are there? etc...

When you hear someone speaking about chemistry, you soon realise it is a broad science, practical and with a big influence in our daily live. That is why it appears in almost everything around us. What’s more, you must have listen to this sentence“you have chemistry, you are alive“. We like saying“everything is chemistryto highlight and express that the world of chemistry covers all animate and inanimate beingsmix of photos

You soon will reach a new language, the language of chemistry, which will help you to understand the world and its functioning. The evolution of chemistry has always been linked to progress, becoming into a science that reaches from the microscopic world of atoms and molecules to the world of the matters we normally use.

If you look at what you are wearing you will soon realise that everything has to do with chemistry, your mobile phone and its battery, the screen of your tablet, the fabric of your clothes, the metal of the coins we use, the ink of your pens, what we eat, the air we breathe, etc...., everything is a world of chemistry.

If you decide to study Chemistry in the Faculty of Chemistry of the UV, you will meet a wide group of professors of well-known prestige, both in teaching and research.
Not only that, but also you will have available magnificent Practice Laboratories where you could acquire the necessary abilities for your training in reduced groups.

You have also available Computer Rooms, with the operating systems Mac OS X, Windows, Linux, etc., and Internet access, necessary to keep up in the data processing both in the field of numerical calculation and of the graphic display and/or simulations.
Nowadays some laboratories have rooms with computing resources and in every building there is both wired and not wired Internet access (WiFi).

Apart from the training of professionals in the field of chemistry we want that the students achieve determined values as the critical spirit, the initiative, the ability of working in teams, etc. and personal values such as tolerance, the desire to learn, etc. that form an upright academic profile that prepares them for the professional exercise.

You must know that the Degree in Chemistry can be singled out for being the number 11 out of 20 of the most demanded qualifications by companies as for experienced degree holders and the 8 out of 20 as for unexperienced degree holders.
