UG Erasmus Studies General Information for A/Y 2025-2026
22th International Week
From November the 4th to the 8th, 2024, the 22th International Week of the university Universitat de València will be held. During this week, the International Relations and Cooperation Service, in collaboration with all the Faculties and Schools of the Universitat, will inform all students about the exchange programs for international stays in the year 2025-2026.
This initiative aims to promote that our students performe a stay in Europe (Erasmus Estudis Program), in other continents (International Program) or in Spain (SICUE Program). Information will also be provided about the Erasmus Internships Program.
Grants
Students receive a grant that can change its amount every year. Information on grants can be checked in our website. Among other goals, the new programme aims to improve the quality and to enhance the linguistic skills of students. To this end, a series of measures have been planned, such as online language courses for students or the option to take (non-binding) assessments tests before and after the Erasmus stays.
Requirements for participating in Erasmus Programmes
- Applicants must be nationals of one of the countries that participate in the Erasmus Programme (the European Union Member States, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Turkey, North Macedonia and Serbia). Nationals of third countries also can participate if they have a valid residence permit for living in Spain during the mobility period.
- Applicants must be enrolled on official undergraduate degrees studies of the UV, both when they submit the application form and during the stay in the host university.
- Applicants must have completed 42 credits in the corresponding curriculum, at the end of the academic year 2023/2024.
- Students who are beneficiaries of another mobility programme with the University of Valencia during the academic year 2025/2026 (SICUE or International Programme) cannot apply, excluding the Erasmus Programme for Work Placements.
- Students must accredit their language level and be accepted by the host institution. Erasmus Studies language requirement.
- Students may go the Erasmus programme more than once as long as they do not exceed 360 days in total. In the degrees of Pharmacy, Medicine and Dentistry, the maximum is 24 months per cycle but each mobility cannot exceed the 360 days limitation.
- Students may need to meet specific requirements set by Faculties for their degrees. Sometimes partner universities have also specific requirements that should be fulfilled.
Selection criteria
In the Erasmus Studies programme, the Mobility Committee for each School or Faculty ranks candidates according to some previously approved criteria, which can be checked here. Among other criteria relevant to each school or faculty, these will include the students' average score after the academic year 2023-2024 and their participation in the Mentoring Programme for incoming international students.
Possible destinations and duration of the stay
Mobility periods will be granted in accordance with the duration of stay established in the bilateral agreement between the Universitat de València and the host university. These can be checked in the list of destinations for each degree in the Student Services Website. Students can do 1st semester, 2nd semester or full-year stays.
Degree Mobility Coordinators
These are the lecturers who advise incoming and outgoing mobility students on the drafting of the study contract, the equivalence of grades and academic assistance.
Mobility coordinators per faculty
Each faculty has a faculty coordinator. This is normally the vice-dean for international relations. He/she is the head of each faculty in mobility matters.

Grants and financial support
Scholarships a/y 2024-2025
The Erasmus Studies program has monthly financial aid to cover accommodation and maintenance. It also has travel aid for participants. In no case are they planned to cover total expenses. In addition, students are exempt from paying any amount in academic fees at the host university. Regarding administrative fees, exams or access to laboratories and libraries, they will receive the same treatment as the local student body.
Scholarships European Union - Universitat de València
The most important financial aid received by students is that which comes from the European Union. The University of Valencia supplements this scholarship with funds from its own budget. The basic monthly amount of this scholarship is established based on the country where the mobility is carried out. The scholarship ranged between 325 and 425 euros per month, plus travel expenses. Students with fewer opportunities receive a supplement of an additional 250 euros per month. To this end, students with fewer opportunities are those who have a general scholarship from the Ministry, disabled students, those who belong to a large or single-parent family, and those who are victims of terrorism or gender violence. The International Relations Service verifies these circumstances ex officio, as they are tuition exemptions.
This scholarship does not have to be applied for. All students of the Universitat de València with an Erasmus Studies mobility grant will receive (without another request) the economic grant of the amount that corresponds to them. The Universitat de València does not award Erasmus Studies mobility scholarships without financial endowment. Nor does it grant economic scholarships if the students do not physically travel abroad.
This scholarship is compatible with the general scholarships for studies that are announced each year by the State Administration and the Generalitat Valenciana. Students must apply for these scholarships also the year they are Erasmus Studies.

Initial learning agreement. You must formalise your learning agreement via Portal Serveis Estudiant. If your host university requires the learning agreement to be in the Online Learning Agreement (OLA) format, it must also be formalised in accordance with point 2 below via Erasmus Without Paper.
- Via Portal Serveis Estudiant
- You must formalise your learning agreement in collaboration with your mobility coordinator (a list of mobility coordinators can be found here). Your learning agreement must outline the courses that you will take abroad and the courses that you will have recognised at the UV. Once you have made your learning agreement proposal, your learning must be validated and closed by your mobility coordinator. Only upon the closure of your learning agreement by your coordinator will you be able to print a copy – to do so, click the ‘Print first’ button. Your mobility coordinator must close your learning agreement before 12 July. Otherwise, you will not be able to complete the self-enrolment process. Prior to departure, you must submit a copy of your initial learning agreement duly signed (scanned signatures are accepted) by you, your mobility coordinator at the UV and your mobility coordinator at the host university. Once you complete this step, you must upload it to your Erasmus Studies file.
- Via Erasmus Without Paper
- Some partner universities may require your learning agreement in the new Online Learning Agreement (OLA) format. If your host university requires this format, you must complete the learning agreement on this website. Once validated by both mobility coordinators, you must download your learning agreement and upload it to your Erasmus Studies file.

Online Language Support "OLS" Initial Language Test and Language Course
Participation in the OLS is voluntary. It is advisable to do it before starting your stay in the destination country and it can be repeated at any time.
STEP 1: Create an account (profile, user) "EU Login" (known as ECAS account) in a European Union application.
STEP 2: Sign up for the EU ACADEMY application
STEP 3: Access the OLS restricted area ("Core restricted area")
You can find links, instructions and tutorials in this document:

Erasmus international study credit self-enrolment. Before leaving for your stay you have to formalize your self-enrolment at the University of Valencia. Once the study contract has been made and after your academic coordinator closes your contract in the computer application, you must access the self-enrolment according to the registration appointment communicated to you from the University of Valencia. It is expected that self-enrolment can be carried out from July 18, 2024.
This year, mobility credits will be uploaded automatically, so it will not be necessary to select them when doing the self-enrolment. This means that when completing the enrolment form:
- If you are doing a full academic year stay, you do not have to select any subject.
- If you are doing a one-semester stay, you must select only the subjects you are going to take during the semester you are at the UV.
Mobility students must pay at the University of Valencia the registration fees for the ECTS that the students include in their study contract. You will be exempt from doing so at the destination university.
Visas. If you are travelling to the UK or Turkey, you will need a visa. Please review the information in the "Other..." section. If you are a national of a non-EU country, it is very likely that you will need a visa. Please contact the consulate of the destination country.
Healthcare insurance cover is mandatory and you must apply for your European Health Insurance Card. If you are going to a country where you are not covered by the European Health Insurance Card (Turkey), you will need to take out private insurance. For full course stays in the United Kingdom, you will be required to pay temporary registration in the British social security system as part of visa processing.
Supplementary insurance. The University of Valencia has taken out a policy to cover some contingencies that are not covered by the European Health Insurance Card, including civil liability, accidents and repatriation. The insurance company will send an individual certificate to each student starting in August. Consult the general conditions of the policy, the model of individual certificate and the protocol to communicate with the CASER insurance company. To find out more, contact erasmusuv@seguronline.com

To send it to the International Relations Service, you must enter ENTREU, open "My procedures" and upload it in electronic format (preferably in PDF) within the "Erasmus Studies File" procedure. Save the original as proof. The processing of the first payment of the scholarships will be done in order of receipt of this document.
Modification of the learning agreement. Modifications are only necessary if the courses initially foreseen in the learning agreement are changed. This procedure must be completed via Portal Serveis Estudiant in order for the modifications to be reflected in your academic record. Such requests must be submitted once you are at the host university and no later than five weeks after the beginning of classes. Once the modifications have been requested via Portal Serveis Estudiant, your mobility coordinator must close your learning agreement so that you can have a printed copy of the new agreement with a table of correspondence between courses. This document must be signed by you, your host mobility coordinator and your mobility coordinator at the UV (scanned signatures are accepted).
- Any modifications made prior to 5 October result in the generation of a new initial learning agreement (or ‘before’), which replaces the previous ones and can be downloaded by clicking on ‘Print first’.
- Modifications after 5 October result in the generation of a modified learning agreement (or ‘during’). Once it has been closed, it can be downloaded by clicking on ‘Print modified’.
- Subsequent modifications result in the generation of a new learning agreement (or ‘during’), which incorporates all modifications and replaces the previous modified documents. Modification (‘during’) contracts must be signed by all three parties (student, UV mobility coordinator and host university coordinator) and uploaded without delay to the UV Online Office.
IMPORTANT REMARK: The first instalment of the grant cannot be paid if any of the aforementioned documents is missing.
Application for extension of study stay. The extension consists of converting a first semester stay into a full course stay. This has academic effects but no economic ones. That is, you will not receive financial support for the period you extend (second semester). In addition to duly submitting the extension request form to erasmus.estudis@uv.es, the study contract must be modified in the terms provided above. In any case, this must be requested at least one month before the end of the initially planned study stay.
Request for reduction of study stay. Only requests for reductions received before 31 December will be accepted. In addition to submitting the reduction request form to erasmus.estudis@uv.es, you must modify the study contract on the Student Services Portal. The reduction involves converting a full course stay into a first or second semester study stay.
3. On your return to Valencia.
Certificate of stay This is the last document you will receive at your chosen university. This contains the start and end dates of your stay and is necessary forthe last payment of the scholarship. You must submit it yourself to the International Relations Service through the ENTREUapplication and enter "My procedures", file "Erasmus Studies File". It is important to take into consideration the warnings concerning dates and the prohibitions of corrections that appear at the foot and on the back of the document.

The report will be made online through the computer application enabled by the EACEA (Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency), responsible for the Erasmus programme. You will notreceive the invitationuntil your stay is over and you have submitted your certificate of arrival. Once you have received the invitation sent directly by the online control system of the Erasmus Programme (Beneficiary Module) to yourinstitutional email, you will have to make the report within the indicated period.
Certificate of grades (Transcript of Records: ToR): This must be given to your degree academic coordinator. Should the university send you the grade certificate (instead of sending it directly to your faculty), you must send it to your coordinator. You can find the list of coordinators at this link http://ir.uv.es/j3n0eh1
Important: We will not be able to make the second payment of the scholarship if part of this documentation is missing. In addition, you must pass at least 50% of the international credits on which you have enrolled at the University of Valencia. If you do not exceed 50%, you will have to repay the amount received as a scholarship.

5. United Kingdom Specific information
If you are travelling to the UK you will need to apply for a visa. Here you will find information on which visa you need. For the full course you need the Student Visa (fee 348 pounds). For semi-annual mobility it is not mandatory to obtain a visa, but you must be able to prove that you meet the requirements to obtain the Standard Visitor Visa (fee 95 pounds). You must pay close attention to the information sent to you by your chosen university. Visas for the United Kingdom will be processed through the Visa Application Center in Madrid or Barcelona. In this document you will find an informative Summary.
The SEPIE (Spanish Service for the Internationalization of Education) has published the document Mobility to the United Kingdom: visa requirements and other related matters on its website
Healthcare: If your mobility in the UK is for the full course, you will be compulsorily registered with the National Health Service (the British Social Security) and will have to pay a fee of around £470 at the time of visa processing. If your mobility to the United Kingdom is for a six-month period, you can choose between being registered with the NHS (about 250 euros) or taking out private insurance.
If you want private insurance, the University of Valencia is one of the Spanish universities affiliated to https://www.oncampus.es. Two other interesting companies are https://www.guardme.eu/uvalencia and https://universitasmundi.com/
On the language certificate, check which visa you need.
