The Rector of the Autonomous University of Bucaramanga, Colombia, Doctor Juan Camilo Montoya, has visited the facilities of the Institute of Robotics and Information and Communication Technologies (IRTIC) on 21st May. The rector's delegate for the alliance Fostering Outreach within European Regions, Transnational Higher Education and Mobility (FORTHEM), Esteban Sanchis, was present at the meeting, which was attended by the current director of IRTIC and the LISITT group, Juan José Martínez, the director of the ARTEC group, Marcos Fernández, and Doctor Javier Samper.
Montoya has had the opportunity to see first-hand the work carried out at the research institute, which ranges from the fields of augmented reality and virtual reality to that of simulations, including the development of intelligent transport systems, semantic web and privacy in the digital sphere.
Likewise, the rector has expressed his interest in knowing how knowledge transfer activities are managed between the institute and the public administrations and private companies with which the IRTIC is collaborating with the aim of replicating some of them in the research groups of the Autonomous University of Bucaramanga.
This meeting has been an opportunity to strengthen ties between the institutions, exchange knowledge and promote synergies that can lead to concrete and innovative projects.
