The Institute on Robotics and Information and Communication Technologies (IRTIC) participates in the European project WELLBASED (Improving health, WELLbeing and equality by evidence-BASED urban policies for tackling energy poverty), which aims to alleviate energy poverty among the most vulnerable and disadvantaged people, while promoting energy-efficient behaviours and reducing energy demand in these households. Based on six pilot programmes in different European countries, the groups involved in the initiative will propose replicable solutions to policy makers and city planners at European level.
This action is funded through the Horizon 2020 programme. Its members, from València (Spain), Heerlen (The Netherlands), Leeds (UK), Edirne (Turkey), Obuda (Hungary) and Jelgava (Latvia), will work on new innovative approaches to improve the health, well-being and equality of people affected by fuel poverty.
