Description

Interactive program on CD-Rom format, which is designed to enable learning and subsequent assessment of the main factors related to the driving of military vehicles, aimed at current and future drivers of the Armed Forces.

The epidemiological context is that the armed forces have a large risk associated with the tasks that have to do with driving. For example, at the time of the initial development, in the Spanish army’s mission in Bosnia, there are more soldiers killed or wounded in traffic accidents than any other type of action (of the 18 Spanish soldiers killed during the mission, 12 died as a result of a traffic accident).

In this sense the programme affects issues such as: driving under stress conditions, description of vehicles with special features, (off-road vehicles, driving conditions, centre of gravity, etc.), vehicle behaviour in special characteristics way or not intended for traffic of vehicles, caravan or convoy traffic, night driving, circulation in low visibility conditions, circulation in adverse visibility conditions, special instructions for the movement in urban areas, traffic in roads not designed for vehicle circulation. Analysis of accidents.

The training programme is conducted through two "missions": military mission and civil mission. It is raised situations the subject must face, offering different levels of feedback (partial/final) on their performance and correct implementation. The materials used allow the selection according to levels and thematic issues, as well as the assessment.

Made with the support and for the benefit of the Spanish Armed Forces, by DATS Research Group.
