At the request of the National Institute of Transit and Land Transport (INTRANT), the "Driver's Manuals of the Dominican Republic" have been developed for applicants to obtain driver's licenses and for drivers who renew their licenses, with the purpose of providing the tools and knowledge necessary to enable them to travel safely and reliably on public roads, with the demands for improvement, with a commitment to update the "General Manual" and the "Specific Manuals" as a result of changes to the law and the issuance of regulations, rules and related resolutions.
The Manuals are: 
- Corresponding General Manual with the Learning Permit
- Specific manual for category 01 authorizing the driving of two or three-wheeled motor vehicles
- Specific manual for category 02 authorizing the driving of light motor vehicles with mechanical or automatic transmission
- Specific manual for categories 03 and 04 authorizing the driving of heavy vehicles for the transport of passengers or cargo, classified as: minibus, bus, trolley bus and two-axle trucks
