Attitudes-Audi
Description

The specific aim of the study is to understand the perceptions, beliefs, thoughts, attitudes and behaviours of Spanish citizens on this issue.

The results provide valuable information that allowed us to understand how it is perceived the phenomenon by the Spanish population, as well as frequencies and motivations very useful in explaining certain driving behaviour and its position with regard to measures and countermeasures aimed at the solution of the problem.

Consequently they have tried to reverse these data to the general public as a motive and material for reflection and provide them to individuals or institutions that have authority on this issue, as well as the scientific community to the extent that the findings will contribute to increase the knowledge.

Ultimately, the research seeks to answer the following questions: What drivers understand for aggressive driving?, What is the degree we behave aggressively?, And the other drivers?, what are those we consider more aggressive?, Why we behave aggressively when driving?, What internal factors lead us to this? Which states? What external elements facilitate it to appear?, What solutions people accept to alleviate the problem? Also have been identified those variables of interest that allow us to identify risk groups with common characteristics (depending on age, sex, profession, etc.). This way which was the driver aggressive profile was explored.

To develop the research a population survey, applied by telephone to a sample of Spanish drivers, was conducted. The sample extraction was performed by a method of random sampling, proportional to the population, according to the variables of age, sex , region and habitat, considering the universe of vehicle drivers in Spain for 14 or more years old. The starting sample size was 1,200 surveys.

The tasks performed by the researchers have been the development of the questionnaire, the design of the research methodology, conducting pre-tests, the implementation of fieldwork, data preparation (encoding, recording, and tabulation), statistical analysis, the development of interpretative report and drafting the final report.
