The western golds float over the quintana. MARI-GAILA, harmonious and naked, stepping barefoot on the sepulchral stones, perceives the rhythm of life under a veil of tears. As she enters the shadow of the portico, the enormous head of the idiot, crowned with camellias, appears to her like an angel's head. Led by her husband's hand, the church gives shelter to the adulterous woman, surrounded by the golden and religious prestige which, in that miraculous world of rough souls, senses the unknown Latin of the DIVINE WORDS.
